There are only 41 of them. So, they're not the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything. Just the same, they are something.
Regardless of their quality or content, these 41 articles raise more questions about Jeff Gannon's access/success as a White House reporter. Infinite Improbability Drive, perhaps? You know what they say about that Heart of Gold.
Last week, Representatives John Conyers and Louise Slaughter released log files of Guckert/Gannon's White House visits - as were provided by the Secret Service - via an FOIS request. Those logs cover a period between February 25, 2003 - February 7, 2005. While much has been written about the roughly 30 times Guckert was in the WH without benefit of an official WH press conference, I've discovered that Jimmy/Jeff was pounding out articles on a regular basis (with a byline) for GOPUSA for more than a month before February 25, 2003..
What got me interested in Jeff's pre-scandal history is what has kept me intrigued since I first read about the man on Media Matters. Even before the escort/adult webmaster stuff, I remember "the question". I heard it when he asked it and it pissed me off. After Jeff was exposed as James Dale Guckert, I felt a certain symbiosis with this guy.
I entered the adult Internet in the late nineties. Jeff entered the adult Internet in the late nineties. I put my dirty pics on the net to sell porn:

I don't have a journalism degree. Jeff doesn't have a journalism degree. I got a sweet gig as a writer. Jeff got a sweet gig as a writer. I identify with Jimmy Dale because if I had just dated the right people, I could have watched a t-ball game on the White House lawn.
I became postively entrenched in Gannon mania after I blogged some proof of JDG's adult webmaster history. As a consequense, I was shortly involved with the kids at ePluribusmedia. I was kicked out and I wish they would stop sending me email. Then I hooked up with my fellow ePluribus outcasts tex and writer Michael Dietz. It was their new piece on Gannon, concerning the origins of Talon News that drove me to spend ages
playing with the old GOPUSA site through the WayBack Machine.
What bothered me about tex and Michael's piece as well as every other Gannon timeline is the gap in his association with GOPUSA. The fact has been established that Jeff's first GOPUSA article appeared on the site January 15, 2003. It's also an established fact that Gannon represented GOPUSA in a White House press conference on February 25, 2003. This gap between January and February mystified me because Jeff has been so inconsistent when answering questions centering on this period.
I decided to look at Jeff's original GOPUSA piece with the help of the wonderful WayBack Machine. The article still exists in the ethos of cyberspace. I thought that was odd because from my understanding, GOPUSA scrubbed all the news articles from their website. Well, they didn't exactly. They just removed the link to the archives. That's why I was able to view Jeff's 01/15/03 article. When I messed with the site some more, I found the archive page:

With the above link I was able to open each and every article credited to:
Jeff Gannon
I scoured for hours and downloaded 41 articles written by Jeff Gannon for GOPUSA, starting on January 15, 2003 and ending on March 31, 2003. According to my findings, Gannon wrote 17 GOPUSA articles before his infamous February appearance on the Secret Service logsheet. While I haven't had a chance to read them all, I have to imagine that at least some of them dealt with WH briefings. Maybe not. Maybe they're just glorified press releases. JDG is so proud of the copy-and-paste method of journalism. Whatever the merits of his writings the truth remains that Jeff Gannon/James Guckert wrote 17 articles under the auspices of GOPUSA, before February 25, 2003. The truth is that JDG's byline appeared on the GOPUSA site 41 times before Talon News ever existed. Here are the links:
If GOPUSA ever figures out how to block the WayBack Machine with robots.txt, those article links might disappear altogether. Don't Panic, my little sluts. I've cached all Jeff's GOPUSA stuff and can repost it like this and this.
